Airbnb availability notifications

A search on Airbnb only ever shows what is bookable right now. It does not tell you what changed since you last looked, and it has nothing that pings you when it does. Two things count as an availability change: a new listing that matches your filters showing up for the first time, and a place that was fully booked becoming free again, almost always because someone cancelled.

To Airbnb these look like two different situations. To you they are the same thing: a place you could not book yesterday that you can book today. AlertBnB treats them that way too, and reports both under the same alert.

Set up your search on Airbnb the normal way, with your dates, guests, price ceiling and any filters that matter to you, then paste that URL into AlertBnB. Prefer not to leave Airbnb open at all? Pick the area on a map instead and set the same filters there.

From there we re-run the search on a schedule and compare it against what we saw last time: every 15 minutes on Premium, every 30 on Pro, twice a day on Basic. A new match or a reopened listing goes out by email, with its photo, its price and a link straight to the listing on Airbnb. Pro and Premium can also push it to your phone the moment it happens.

We book nothing and see nothing a logged-out visitor could not see. The notification is the whole service; what you do with it is up to you.

In a popular area a good listing rarely lasts long once it appears, and a reopened one can be gone within the hour if the dates are contested. An availability notification that arrives that evening finds out about it after the fact; one that arrives within minutes still gives you a real shot.

That is the whole difference between the plans. Basic's twice-a-day check is enough to see the tool work and fine for a relaxed search with no competition. Pro and Premium exist for searches where being early is the point.
